One of the most famous mantras in Tibet is the mantra of Padma Sambhava called Vajra Guru Mantra:

OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA HUM SIDDHI.

Padma Sambhava ( "Lotus Born") was an Indian sage who brought Buddhism from India to Tibet in the 700s AD Sambhava Padma Mantra is the mantra of all the Buddhas, Masters, and realized beings, and is exceptionally powerful for achieving peace, healing, transformation and protection.

OM is the Cosmic Mind

means AH attraction of the Divine Power of the Cosmic Mind.

HUM is the manifestation in the physical world on Earth. VAJRA

means so much lightning as diamond (both). As resource material or device, the vajra is a short metal weapon that has the symbolic nature of the diamond (it can cut any substance but not to cut herself) and Ray (irresistible force). Spiritually, the vajra is believed to represent firmness of spirit and spiritual power. Siddhi

means real achievement, achievement, accomplishment. HUM

also represents the Wise Mind Buddhas. The Divine Sound Hum works as a catalyst in the mantra to bring it to reality.

The essential meaning of the mantra is: "I invoke you, Vajra Guru, Padmasambhava, who by thy blessing grant us ordinary and supreme siddhis."
